Code in Cache and Trackable Logs

If you want to have the same effects as HTML produces on cache page descriptions in logs (and trackable page logs) then you can do so. HTML code doesn't work, instead the logs use BB code ( Bulletin Board - forum code). You can enter the codes by hand or if you use Firefox as your web browser then you can use a simple script that gives you a different look to the log and allows you to create the effects you want really quickly.

BB Codes to use manually
To use the codes manually in a log then you enter them between [ ] square brackets. The code to start at the front of the word or sentence and the end code after with a / in it. Here is an example log with one word in bold and short statement in bold and red.

This log entry is important, please read it carefully. "Do not remove this trackable coin from the cache". It was placed there to be discovered not moved on. Thank You!

This is how you enter it into the log:

This log entry is [b]important,[/b] please read it carefully. [red][b]"Do not remove this trackable coin from the cache".[/b][/red] It was placed there to be discovered not moved on. Thank You!

When you 'chain' codes together, for example you want red font and bold text you must put the codes in the correct order. In the example above the [red] is the first code followed by [b] for bold. At the end the [/b] is entered before the [/red].

This is not an exhaustive list just some examples of code that you can use. Don't forget that adding a lot of visual effects can be very distracting! You should use the code just to emphasise what you are trying to say.

You can Google for more codes but please note that not all BB code will work in cache/trackable logs. If you create a log and the code doesn't work as you expect you can always edit the log to remove it.
